Last week was the Wakeboarding Mag Wake Awards. This year they really went all out for the awards. They held the awards in Chaplin theater in the Orlando convention center. The who’s who of the wakeboarding world was there to except and present awards like, Best Wake Rider, Rail Rider, Wakeskater and Wakeboarder of the year. The biggest highlight for me at the awards was watching my brother Reed Hansen take home the Wakeskater of the Year award. He had an awesome year and I know he was stoked to be honored with that title.
The most anticipated award every year has to be “Best Trick”. This year there was an amazing montage of both wakeskate and wakeboard tricks. Matt Manzari took home the Best Trick wakeskate award for his amazing Backboard to backside flip out on a flat rail. Aaron Rathy continues to amaze and walked away with Best Trick for his wrapped Backside 1080 off the double up. The ceremony was a lot of fun and everyone had a great time. Congrats to all the winners it was an awesome year.
